We are applying for non lucrative visas for residence in Spain. I do have relatives in Spain and we plan on making this a permanent move if all works out well. Is there a better route for us to take? Also, very confused about taxes. Will be paying to both U.S. and Spain? Thank you for any information.

      Hello Sandra,

Please take into account only family members (husband, wife, children…) can be considered as a family member to reunificate you. If we are talking about a mother, a father, brother or sister, for instance, it is necessary to prove more things.

About the taxes, it is up to you and it will also depend on your earnings in Spain, if you have.

      Thank you!

      Hello Maria,

The non-lucrative visa does not allow you to work in Spain, but only in Spain. Therefore, you are allowed to work in another country if that country allows you to do it, of course. About your question “i could do remote job to a complany in other country as England?”, the answer is: absolutely. Actually, the non-lucrative residency is made for people who has a company (incomes or savings) abroad.

      I hope it helps!

    Hi Javier,
Is that possible to run a small business there by holding a non-lucrative visa? like a florist / ice-cream shop?

      Hello Chau,

You cannot make any business in Spain if you have a non lucrative visa. Actually the “non-lucrative” visa, as its name implies, means you will not get any commercial or work profit in Spain.

    Hello,
I’m from south africa and want to au pair in spain for 3 months. I’m going to live with the family and they are also going to pay my health insurance. What visa type should I apply for? Because on a normal schengen visa you can’t work.
    Thank you in advance

      Hello Lizelle,

If you will stay for 180 days or shorter, actually it is a Schengen visa. If you want to stay longer, an Au Pair visa.
